Equipments for continuous casting and hot strip mill of T-GROUP 1.1 MTPA Steel Plant put into delivery

On December 11,2008, cranes for the continuous casting and hot continuous rolling project of T-GROUP 1.1 MTPA Steel Plant arrived at Tianjin Port from Xinxiang of He’nan Province and will be delivered. Therefrom, the equipments that Sinosteel MECC supplies for this project will begin to be shipped.

This project of T-GROUP 1.1 MTPA Steel Plant is the largest continuous casting and hot strip mill project of China contracted overseas. Sinosteel MECC is responsible for the engineering and complete equipment supply of 2-strand slab continuous casting, 950mm hot strip mill, 8000m3/h oxygen plant and water treatment system of the whole plant. The construction time limit is 18 months. Since the contract came into effect in January,2008, relying on its technical advantage and rich engineering project managing experience, Sinosteel MECC has overcome the rise in price of raw material and the impact of global financial crisis to guarantee the original progressing of engineering and equipment manufacturing. Presently, the engineering and equipment procurement of the project are almost finished. After the cranes, CCM base embedded parts and water treatment equipments being delivered on time, the main equipments like continuous casting mold, big ring gear bearing, ladle turret and 950mm strip finishing mill stands are now under manufacturing and assembly and soon will be shipped.

The delivery of equipments for continuous casting and hot continuous rolling project of T-GROUP 1.1 MTPA Steel Plant not only creates favorable conditions for the completion and putting into production of the projet, but also plays an active role in promoting the marketing of Sinosteel MECC in metallurgical projects contracting and spare parts supply.
