Mali Iron Ore

The Mali located in West Africa is the new developed iron ore resource of Sinosteel India in recent years. Mali iron ore is hematite and the mines are nearby Mali's capital Bamako with iron ore grade of 63.5/63 in general, 10-300mm in size. The mining capacity is around 200,000MT per month. The product after crushing is iron ore lumps of grade 63.5/63, 10-40mm in size, and iron ore fines of grade 63/62. However, the crushing equipment working ability is limited. At present, the iron ore lumps production is approximately 30,000MT per month, iron ore fines production is around 10,000MT per month.

Mali is a landlocked country, relies on neighbor country’s port to export. Now, the export port is Dakar in Senegal. The distance from Mali main to Dakar port is 1300 kilometers. At present, the mine is seeking more export outlet, the Abidjan port of Ivory Coast is expected to become the second export port.

There are two shipment methods to transport Mali iron ore: container shipment and bulk shipment. The main export destination is China and India. In the limitation of loading draft condition, the bulk shipment quantity is mainly around 30,000MT. The transportation period is 40days from Dakar to Southern port of China and about 42days to Northern ports of China. The main destinations of container shipment are Tianjin, Qingdao and Shanghai in China.

As per the feedback of Mali iron ore in using condition and sample inspection result, the iron ore is in high and stable grade, little impurity, no harmful elements, and using condition has no difference compared with India mainstream ore.
