2.2MT Coke Oven Project for Xinjiang Bayi Iron & Steel Group

Contract scope：

In phase I and phase II, totally 4×55 holes AG60-06F regenerative type top charging coke oven with height of coking chamber as 6m are newly built, and finally the production capacity is 2.2 MT/a coke. As auxiliary, 2×140 t/h CDQ device and one set of wet coke quenching system as standby and coal preparation and gas cleaning system for 4×55 hole coke oven are built.

In 2006, SINOSTEEL Equipment and Engineering Co., Ltd. and Baosteel Group signed the general contracting contract for the 1# and 2# coke oven in new area of Xinjiang Bayi Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. On August 20, 2007, SINOSTEEL Equipment and Engineering Co., Ltd. signed general contracting contract for 3# and 4# coke ovens in new area of Xinjiang Bayi Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. In phase I and phase II, totally 4×55 hole AG60-06F regenerative top charging coke ovens with height of coking chamber as 6 m are newly built, and finally the production capacity is 2.2 MT/a coke. As auxiliary, 2×140 t/h CDQ device and one set of wet coke quenching system as standby and coal preparation and gas cleaning system for 4×55 hole coke oven are built. The COG treatment capacity of the gas cleaning system is 113850 m3/h. SINOSTEEL Equipment and Engineering Co., Ltd. undertakes the engineering design, equipment and material procurement and supply, construction, equipment installation, commissioning, test run, trial production and personnel training, etc. for the project.

By the end of 2008, the 4 sets of coke ovens and auxiliary gas cleaning systems are smoothly started up. The 1# CDQ is put into production in July 2008. The power generation system is smoothly incorporated and power is generated in December. It is expected that the 2# CDQ will be completed and started up by the end of March 2009. the completion of coking project in Bayi Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. as scheduled and smooth startup demonstrate that SINOSTEEL Equipment and Engineering Co., Ltd. completely possesses the capability for undertaking large scale coking project in TURN-KEY form and it establishes firm basis for further development of foreign market for coking project for SINOSTEEL Equipment and Engineering Co., Ltd.
